Avery Dennison is seeking a Research & Development Lab Engineer to join the Performance Tapes Division in the Electronics segment. The R&D Lab Engineer will drive innovation and new technology development globally. This role is focused on tactical lab execution along with crafting test methodology and providing product recommendations.
Key Responsibilities :
Detailed oriented and capable of delivering professional reports for critical technology platforms.
Build and execute on lab testing and protocol. Build capabilities by recommending and developing test methods and associated equipment required for electronics based testing.
Able to handle multiple work streams concurrently
Collaborate with the commercial teams to provide technical direction and product recommendation.
Visit customers with Business Development Managers and technical teams to provide deep technical direction with regards to product testing and performance.
20% Domestic travel with occasional international travel
Critical Objectives & Outcomes
Build capabilities for the Northern California lab by establishing test methods and specifying new equipment.
Collect VOC and CTQs to develop quick to market custom samples for testing and prototype submissions.
Conduct experiments/studies to support development efforts.
Gather OEM specifications and test per the details in the specifications.
Environmental awareness and safety conscious.
Bachelor's Degree required, with a preference for a technical field (Engineering, Chemistry, etc.).
Prior experience in customer-facing roles required.
Related lab experience strongly preferred.
Strong lab protocol knowledge and comfortable with various mechanical test equipment.
Capable of preparing technical reports with key findings and summarize observations.
Comfortable visiting current customers and working with potential customers regarding custom testing and translating lab results into performance attributes.
Strong project management skills.
Draw from technical background to provide fundamental polymer science and physics perspective to testing conclusions and recommendations.
