Job Description

This position is remote, but must reside in CA.

The Business Development Manager role has the overall responsibility to identify, evaluate and lead new business opportunities and market initiates. This position establishes strategic relationships with global consumer electronics brand owners and connects these brand owners with the appropriate sales personnel.. Reporting to the General Manager of Performance Tapes Asia Pacific, this position will work cross functionally with commercial and technical teams to identify and evaluate opportunities and sales staff to convert leads into sales within the Performance Tapes and Durable Label Businesses. This role will be based in the United States.

Your responsibilities will include:

Activities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Identify, assess, develop, and lead new programs and new business opportunities, leading to successful commercialization efforts. Work with prospective customers to identify unmet needs, and implement initiatives to meet those needs.

  • Identify and evaluate entirely “new to Avery Dennison” business prospects for consideration that fit within the vision and capabilities of the business. Identify and evaluate new opportunities building off existing technologies to new or existing customers.

  • Develop and maintain working relationships with business partners at all levels of the customer’s organization.

  • Support tasks such as market study and analysis, identify market size, growth trend, competitor landscape, and new growth engine.

  • Supervise and report on industry trends. Incorporate knowledge of the industry to partner with Marketing and R&D to develop products, support materials, and pricing recommendations. Partner with Sales to transition new opportunities into new revenue.

  • Development account activities during commercialization.

  • Identify customers and products for “quick hit” project opportunities.

  • Provide exceptional customer experience for business partners and prospects to develop long-term business opportunities.

  • Navigate sophisticated problems to determine the best solutions for customer needs.

  • Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree. Background in engineering, or material sciences preferred.

  • 2-5 years of related experience; project management skills are a plus

  • Strong communication skills

  • Passionate pursuit of customer happiness. Strong bias to bringing value and customer dedication.

  • Strong Teammate. Able to work effectively engaging internal cross functional resources.

  • High energy, ambitious, goals/results oriented. Able to effectively operate in a remote-from-HQ location. #LI-Remote

  • Proficient English is preferred

  • Ability to travel up to 50%.

Additional Information

The salary range for this position is $94,975 - $126,100 / year.

The hiring base salary range above represents what Avery Dennison reasonably expects to pay for this position as of the date of this posting. Actual salaries will vary within the range, and in some circumstances may be above or below the range, based on various factors including but not limited to a candidate’s relevant skills, experience, education and training, and location, as well as the job scope and complexity, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel required for the position, which may change depending on the candidate pool.
