Job Description
Primary responsibilities and essential functions:
Activities and duties may vary depending upon site specific needs. Essential functions may include, but are not limited to:
Work with raw material vendors to resolve quality issues and to make improvements.
Act as the primary problem solving resource for raw material issues as needed.
Lead development and qualification of new vendors or new raw materials
Act as the link between operation and raw material vendors.
Support the handling of customer complaints and customer communication from receipt to closure
Coordinate quality matters related to customer quality such as product complaint, customer claim (credit note), 8D report evaluation and submission, follow-up to assess the efficiency of corrective actions and preventive actions.
Provide internal production quality support related to issue resolution, product quality/risk assessment and product disposition.
Provide plant quality support and representation in new product development, spec reviews and approvals, scale up, design transfer, and facility validation activities.
Ability to work across functional boundaries and collaborate with these business fields in a significant manner - laboratory, manufacturing, engineering, sales, and marketing functions as needed to carry out assignments.
Provides production support of a quality/statistical data analysis nature.
Provide monthly quality indices and lead monthly Quality meetings.
Prepare and submit monthly quality reports to keep track of all meaningful quality indexes and quality improvement activities for all outsourced suppliers.
Develop necessary quality standards (procedures) and requirements for suppliers.
Lead and commit to zero quality incidents for outsourced suppliers.
Generate and provide quality metrics for management review.
Provide support in customer, supplier, third party and regulatory audits.
Other duties as deemed necessary.
Quality Systems:
Support Document Coordinator for quality documents
Provides training and quality support to the production areas
Conducts quality audits for products, processes, and if required suppliers
Leads problem solving and continuous improvement projects
Develop systemic improvements to the plant quality system
Provide guidance into the development and maintenance of the Site Quality Management System (QIS)
Qualifications
Position Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field.
2-5 years experience in Quality or similar fields.
Experience balancing multiple responsibilities with minimal direction.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; strong presentation skills.
Able to effectively work with various functions and levels within the organization.
Strong analytical skills
Preferred:
Knowledge of ISO 9001
Six Sigma Training or certification
Statistical background with Minitab knowledge
