In this role, you will report to the Plant Manager and direct the Maintenance department in order to meet production, quality and cost objectives, overseeing the day-to-day operations of four maintenance shifts. Through reliability centered maintenance, you will maintain requirements for equipment, materials, and manpower resources that are used to drive performance improvements. You will represent the site maintenance team on cross-functional leadership teams to drive site and business goals, and will be responsible for operational results across multiple teams/units within the facility.
Activities may include, but are not limited to:
Ensure maximum efficient operations of facilities and equipment, as well as the care of all grounds and support equipment, through the direction of a technical support staff made up of supervisors, technicians, custodians, and the purchase of necessary outside technical and non-technical support services.
Plan, coordinate, and supervise machine and/or building maintenance schedules and activities.
Recommend equipment modification for upgrades.
Development and management of machine reliability metrics.
Responsible for operational results. Drive execution of site improvement plans, help set operations improvement goals, ensure priorities and accountability are clear, provide resources and remove obstacles to ensure success.
Analyze and draw information for long-term strategic change and improvement for multiple teams/shifts.
Lead significant projects and improvement initiatives, scheduling and planning, budgeting and control.
Design, implement and drive operational improvement strategies for safety, cost, quality, training, reliability, inventory and services.
Lead a safe operation and comply with legal, legislative and corporate safety requirements.
Participate in the establishment of sites annual operating plans.
Employee Development & Management:
Train and provide development opportunities for staff. Ensure annual goals are complete and communicated. Ensure Global Performance Management System is up to date and regular feedback is provided to staff members.
Monitor and evaluate team members, and adjust training where needed.
Model and promote the Corporation's Code of Business Ethics and Values.
Perform general management duties such as, performance appraisals, promotions and terminations. Responsible for training and development of staff, estimating staffing needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies.
Act as a team role model and change-agent. Actively participate as a member of the Plant Leadership Team.
Promote teamwork with the goal of achieving individual and business goals.
7+ years Operations/Manufacturing experience required.
2+ years Maintenance Management experience required.
Demonstrated success in problem solving.
Demonstrated understanding of financial systems and the key drivers within the manufacturing environment.
Strong leadership skills. Ability to lead, contribute, and influence others in a team-based organization.
Understanding of applicable computer systems.
Excellent organizational and people skills, project management skills, with an ability to openly convey information to team members in a timely, concise manner.
Demonstrated successful experience in facilitating and participating in implementation of plant-wide initiatives including safety improvements, TPM, 5S, Six Sigma, etc.
Experience with reliability centered maintenance processes.
Experience leading and/or establishing Preventative/Predictive Maintenance Programs.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering preferred.
5+ manufacturing leadership experience preferred.
