Avery Dennison is seeking a Sr. Process Engineer to join the Engineered Films Plants in Concord, Ohio. As a Sr. Process Engineer, your role will be focused on improving the performance of our operations to achieve production excellence. In this role, you will work cross-functionally within Supply Chain, Operations, EH&S and Quality in projects. Ability to work cross-functionally and influence others is key to the role.
In your role as Sr. Process Engineer, delivering on these responsibilities is critical to success:
Lead process engineering support of the scale-up of new product(s) and in the improvement of existing product(s).
Work closely with Master Scheduler to ensure optimal schedule sequence, relay performance to schedule interruptions, and make course corrections to minimize customer impact and maximize production efficiencies.
Manage all aspects of Standard Operating Conditions Program.
Troubleshoot daily operational challenges; first point of contact for shift teams.
Lead process improvement teams identifying and escalating all areas of improvement.
Research and identify root cause on customer complaints. Work with team to develop and implement corrective action plan and implementation.
Lead capital projects from define through commercialization. These can include equipment upgrades and new installations.
What you will need to bring to the team:

- Bachelor of Science degree required: Polymer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related degree.
- 6+ years Operations Engineering or related experience. Experience in a 24/7 continuous environment preferred.
Must be flexible in work hours. Will be on-call for trouble-shooting and support for 24/7 manufacturing operation.
Agent of change: Identify, initiate, execute, control, and audit
Work with quantitative analysis and models for decision-making and problem solving
Able to conduct research, prepare comprehensive reports and present complex statistical information in a clear and succinct fashion
Experience with Capital projects involving the specification, design and installation of extrusion and web handling equipment
Can demonstrate process trouble-shooting ability
Can evaluate multiple variables to arrive at the optimum solution
Experienced with six sigma and lean manufacturing (Green or Black Belt preferred)
Competency in objective setting, and providing appropriate situational leadership to execute these strategies
Ability to take on increased responsibility, special initiatives, and leadership role
Statistical Analysis, Polymer Processing, Production Scale Extrusion
Experience with Statistical Tools such as MATLab, MiniLab, DOEs
Film, Web Handling, Cast Extrusion, Blown Extrusion Mono and Biax Orientation preferred
Masters Degree a plus
