Avery Dennison is seeking a results oriented Senior Financial Analyst to join the Reflective Solutions Organization (RFLNA and RFLWW) in Painesville, OH. This position will play a critical role within our Global and North American FP&A and Commercial Finance Team. The successful candidate will strive for continuous improvements in the division’s financial analysis tools, data and reporting/analysis capabilities as well as ensure all business-performance reporting and analytics are timely and accurate. This individual will work collaboratively across a variety of functional areas, activities and geographic boundaries by taking the lead in analyzing, understanding and providing financial insight, allowing for quicker and improved decision making by the organization. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING: • Perform a variety of variance analyses (versus AOP, Forecast, Prior Year, etc.) on several key financial metrics. • Prepare and provide assistance on monthly/quarterly forecasts, Mid-Month Snapshot and publish “Flash” Financial Statements, with insight from functional leadership and finance manager. • Lead the preparation of RFLNA’s Monthly Business Performance Review Deck and be an engaged participant in the monthly review call. • Assist with the RFLWW Monthly Business Review Deck. • Perform monthly budget review meetings with SG&A Cost Center Owners to review actual spending against forecast and AOP and to help with any investigation needed of expenses that require further explanation/detail. • Provide financial information to assist management and functional owners in making well-informed business decisions, including the preparation of key financial reporting packages/summaries at month end and at other times. • Drive continuous improvement and standardization efforts, including compliance of MGWW finance requests. Understand key business unit operating metrics/drivers and measure performance to established metrics.
• Work directly with the Sales and Marketing teams on improvements to current reporting and developing new and improved tools that allow us to more effectively achieve our goals, including dashboards and price-volume-mix analysis.
• Manage global Reflective sales data warehouse.
• BS in Accounting or Finance. • 5-7 years of Accounting or Finance experience, operating in a performance/results-oriented “fast-paced” culture. • High-energy self-starter with history of successful accomplishments. • Experience with financial analysis tools and analysis of financial statements. • Solid financial acumen (analytical skills), attention to detail and critical thinking skills, in order to help solve a variety of problems and challenges. • Strong oral and written communication/presentation skills. • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively and build relationships with all levels of the organization. • Advanced proficiency in Excel, specifically on-the-job experience with Macros, Pivot Tables and V-Lookups preferred. • Strong work ethic and initiative. Possesses a strong desire to learn about the business side of the Reflective Organization and truly become a part of the organization. • Team player and customer focused. • Oracle, Hyperion, Cognos, MfgPro experience a plus.
