Job Description

This position will be in the Technical Innovation Group providing Research solutions for Retail Information Services and the Divisions.


The qualified candidate will conduct applied research and product/process development in support of new and existing proprietary product concepts at the laboratory, pilot scale, and manufacturing plant environment. Working with teams of engineers and scientists, he/she will investigate creative solutions to technical problems and create business opportunities by systematically exploring analytical approaches based on Polymer and Materials Science, Adhesives, Coatings and Ink Chemistries, and Engineering. Candidate will use his/her knowledge of analytical chemistry to support new coating development and create new product libraries. Position requires hands-on lab analysis of coatings, inks, adhesives, and systems, as well as manufacturing pilot and scale up trials in conjunction with multiple operational sites.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Use and develop analytical test methods to benchmark coated and/or printing systems that are used in various coating and/or apparel printing methods including digital, flexographic, screen, thermal transfer, hot stamp, inkjet, and toner based. Develops Heat Transfer apparel labeling constructions. Develops analytical methods and establishes specifications and standard requirements for such products. Periodically reviews his work with a senior staff member, project leader, and/or the technical manager /director. Assists in the troubleshooting of production or customer problems related to his area of competence. Works with legal team to protect IP through the patent, trademarking process using analytical data to support said claims.


  • 6+ Years engineering, research, scientific or related experience with Bachelor’s Degree

  • 4+ years with Masters Degree.

  • Demonstrate working knowledge/experience in a given field.

  • Understanding of applicable computer systems, such as Microsoft Office, Google, and function specific software.

  • Strong math and analytical skills.

  • Strong organization and attention to detail.
