Avery Dennison is currently hiring a Quality Engineer to join our Performance Tapes facility located in Painesville, OH. In this role, you will be focused on leading the Complaint Handling, Corrective Action Preventive Action (CAPA) processes as well as Implementation of Quality Systems. This position requires the ability to drive improvement across multiple functional areas, through committed root cause discovery and analysis. Good judgment skills are necessary to ensure the appropriate balance of quality, compliance, and business needs.
Handle customer complaints and customer communication from receipt to closure
Coordinate quality matters related to customer quality such as product complaint, customer claim (credit note), 8D report evaluation and submission, follow-up to assess the effectiveness of corrective actions and preventive actions.
Provide internal production quality support related to issue resolution, product quality/risk assessment and product disposition.
Provide plant quality support and representation in new product development, spec reviews and approvals, scale up, design transfer, and facility validation activities.
Provide assistance in the QA lab to perform product testing if required
Ability to work across functional boundaries and interface with these business disciplines in a significant manner - laboratory, manufacturing, engineering, sales, and marketing functions as needed to carry out assignments.
Provides production support of a quality/statistical data analysis nature
Run quality labs – administer plant metrology system.
Provide monthly quality indices and lead monthly Quality meeting
Prepare and submit monthly quality reports to keep track of all meaningful quality indexes and quality improvement activities for all outsourced suppliers.
Develop necessary quality standards (procedures) and requirements for suppliers.
Lead and commit to zero quality incidents for outsourced suppliers.
Generate and provide quality metrics for management review.
Plan and lead MSA study for all measurement and attribute inspection.
Other duties as deemed necessary.
Document Coordinator for quality documents
Provides training and quality support to the production areas
Conducts quality audits for products, processes, and if required suppliers
Leads problem solving and continuous improvement projects
Develop systemic improvements to the plant quality system
Provide guidance into the development and maintenance of the Site Quality Management System (QIS)
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field.
2-5 years experience in Quality or similar fields.
Good statistical background with Minitab knowledge
Experience handling multiple responsibilities with minimal direction.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; strong presentation skills.
Able to effectively work with various functions and levels within the organization.
Knowledge of ISO 9001 and TS16949 is a plus
Six Sigma Training or certification is helpful
