Avery Dennison is currently seeking a Materials Manager to lead daily production control, inventory, order handling and Supply Chain improvement efforts for our Performance Tapes - North America (PT-NA) facility located in Painesville, OH. The Materials Manager is an integral part of the Plant Leadership Team, and reports directly to the Plant Manager. In this role, you will work with Operations and product line teams to establish business rules that best achieve service responsiveness, efficiency, and loss objectives
Provide support and organizational linkages to Customer Service, Sales, Marketing, and Purchasing
Run service and lead improvement efforts to exceed operational targets
Provide functional support and overall leadership of Shipping and Receiving Team
Lead or participate in inter-plant product transitions to reduce service interruptions
Initiate actions to simplify plant materials-related processes in order to reduce overall plant lead time
Responsible for optimizing coating and finishing schedule wheels to balance service and cost and minimize lost time due to changeovers
Balances the S&OP Process for the site and division, including demand planning and coordination with Sales Team
Responsible for development of inventory strategies to include: Inventory Turns Planning, Raw Material Roll Quantity Optimization, and Custom Coat Production Optimization
Perform general management duties, exercising authority concerning staffing needs, training needs, performance appraisals, skill development, timekeeping, consistent application of organizational policies, promotions, and terminations
Perform other tasks as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, engineering, or technical discipline required. Supply Chain degree is preferred.
5+ years experience production control and inventory management
Excellent leadership skills and previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

Experience with production control in high-volume, varied product mix environment
Strong computer skills with applicable computer systems, such as Microsoft Office (Excel) and function specific software and planning systems (MFGPro, DS/DSRP)
APICS or similar supply chain certification a plus
