The position will be in Technical Service investigating product issues by preparing, formulating, and evaluating the root cause of the product failure.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
Assists with laboratory testing requirements of complaint and improved products
Accountable for maintaining lab equipment and calibration records
Performs testing for product performance including wash testing, crock testing, application testing, print testing, etc.
Receives direction from a staff member, project leader, chemist, or technical manager
Orders lab quantities of raw materials as needed
Plans work efficiently so that results are obtained in a timely fashion. Ability to work on multiple projects that are substantially different
Accountable for preparing samples and shipping product samples to various external sites
Accountable for performing lab trials, tests and analyses with attention to detail and technique in order to produce good statistical reproducibility
Accountable for writing reports summarizing results, data, and conditions of tests and procedures used. Highly preferred is knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel or Google docs with ability to perform statistical interpretation of data (averaging, standard deviation calculation, confidence limit, regression etc)
Practice all health and safety procedures, policies and practices
Practice excellent housekeeping. Maintain a clean and organized work area
Attend all required safety training
Participate in or lead lab safety initiatives
Previous experience working in a laboratory setting
Associates Degree in Scientific Discipline with 5+ years experience, or equivalent, in areas related to Lab/R&D/Quality Control testing of coated materials, inks, films and textile materials. Experience in a technical laboratory environment, preferably dealing with formulated chemical products is preferred
Capable of performing routine repetitive tasks with little supervision once trained. Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office, etc.) required
