Job Description

Avery Dennison is seeking a MarComms Manager to join its dynamic and fast-paced Retail Branding & Information Solutions (RBIS) division - a great opportunity to help shape and grow the marketing communications function for the apparel division within RBIS.

The Marketing Communications Manager role will encompass a broad range of activity from developing out of the box launch programs, including integration with the overall communications and business strategy. There will be a focus on event and market opportunities including trade shows, event sponsorship, partnerships and profiling opportunities. He or she will work directly with the product, innovation and commercial teams to build unrivaled platforms for Apparel solutions. The role will also include travel and cross functional support for local events taking place across Europe. This is a global role and requires a strong multi-tasking skill-set and confidence to drive new initiatives within the business.

  • Deliver and execute comprehensive marketing communications plans across channels (internal and external events, digital/social media, direct marketing, promotions, internal communications and PR) in collaboration with the broader marketing organization and leadership to support key business objectives

  • Ensure there is an integrated approach to all marcomm activity which is aligned and consistent with the global team

  • Develop go-to-market communications plans for product launches, ensuring integration with overall business and communications strategy including coordination with events activity throughout the year

  • Collaborate with the creative, trends, product and innovations teams to develop sales tools that act as a platform to showcase the Apparel solutions to the market

  • Support with creative, proofreading and editing collateral that will appear both within the hardcopy tools and online within the digital solution

  • Develop event plans and manage the execution of both internal and external events ensuring all key stakeholders are aligned

  • Draft and submit project briefs to creative team that are clear, complete and actionable

  • Write, proofread and edit copy for a variety of marketing and communications collateral

  • Ensure consistency of brand messaging and communication across all activity

  • Keep up-to-date with market, competitive and tactical information to help better introduce/implement products, programs and services to our target markets

  • Support and prepare and/or write marketing communications and/or presentations for the wider organization and leadership team

  • Support website content updates

  • Manage content/editorial translations as required

  • Writing editorial (English) to promote activity taking place across the Apparel division including product launch announcements, promotion of sales tools and event activity/reviews

  • Work in collaboration with the global MarComm team to develop and execute events taking place across Europe including trade shows, sponsorship opportunities, speaker opportunities and partnerships

  • Support the communications strategy surrounding Halo Brands and special projects to build awareness of RBIS within the apparel design industry, including social media, press and PR opportunities, press releases and editorial development for internal news pieces and external customer newsletters

  • Analyze all events and promotional activity to ensure it supports and drives business strategy

  • Ensure all activity is executed to plan and within budget

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level - English, Communications, Marketing or Events preferred

  • A broad-reaching global marketing communications experience in an apparel/fashion environment

  • Strategic thinker with an ability to align all activity to help drive commercial goals

  • Proven track record of ‘thinking outside the box’

  • Multi-tasker capable of managing numerous large projects simultaneously

  • Strong initiative to lead on projects where appropriate

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications and organizational skills

  • Detail-orientated

  • Collaborative attitude with proven experience managing large projects

  • Excellent writing, editing, and presentation abilities

  • Strong ability to write and edit engaging copy/editorial in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment

  • Understanding of digital marketing landscape and best practices, with an emphasis on social media, email communications, and the web

  • Ability to navigate, collaborate, and support various functions across the business from the C-suite to employees on the shop floor

  • Experience working effectively across diverse cultures and operating structures; proven ability to excel in a global environment
