Job Description

The Quality Assurance Technician follows prescribed procedures and performs a variety of tasks in the quality area. You will be working an 8 hour day shift, with overtime as needed based on business needs.

In this important role you will also be responsible for:  

• Support the day-to-day operations of the QA Lab

• Provide guidance and direction on the production floor when quality issues/problems (Andons) arise and assist in the problem-solving of these issues

• Tests and inspects products at various stages of the production process in compliance with all applicable test methods (product age testing)

• Rigorous compliance with ISO9001 standards, procedures, work instructions, and test methods

• Entering data into various spreadsheets and databases (QIS, MFGPro)

• Assist in training manufacturing personnel in quality-related methods, skills, and techniques

• Actively participate in Level 1 MDIs and plant Kaizen events

• Accurate and timely disposition of non-conformance material - owner of the process

• Ensure adherence to operating standards to ensure safe work practices, maximize productivity and minimize scrap and machine downtime

• Recommend, support, and implement improvements to quality initiatives

• Ensure safety and housekeeping efforts are supported

• Special testing and projects as directed

• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

• Practice excellent housekeeping. Maintain a clean and organized work area.

• Attend all required safety training.

• Participate in or lead lab safety initiatives.

Qualifications

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) or 3+ years of relevant manufacturing work experience.

• Minimum 1 year previous manufacturing experience

• Superior oral and written communications skills

• Actively seeks knowledge, skills, and experience in order to grow and develop

• Ability to think ahead, anticipate problems, and take appropriate actions

• Achieves goals with minimal direction

• Demonstrated decision and problem solving experience

• Strong communication skills in and outside of QA

• Flexible and ready to accept and respond to multi-task assignments

• Computer proficiency, including spreadsheet, word processing, and MFG-Pro

• Previous QA lab or R&D lab experience

 Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• 4 year undergraduate degree

• Previous involvement to teams demonstrating results and commitment to improvement

• Understanding of pressure sensitive products and processes
