Job Description

Avery Dennison is seeking an entry level Global Supply Chain Planner who will report to the Global Supply Chain Planning Manager for our Reflective Products business. You will be an important contributor to a fast growing business that is a leading manufacturer of life saving innovative reflective solutions that make the world’s roadways safer.  You will work collaboratively with cross functional teams to conduct demand analysis within the global Reflective Solutions business with a focus on replenishing regional inventory to meet customer demand.

This role is expected to participate in supply chain improvement projects where necessary. This is a great developmental opportunity for a new graduate or an individual in their  early career path. 

This position will be based at our Mt. Prospect site in the Chicago area.

Key Accountabilities

Demand planning, Regional inventory replenishment and optimization

  • Analyze demand, conduct replenishment planning activities for regional warehouses to effectively meet customer demand.

  • Participate in the S&OP process to align capacity planning with customer forecasted demand.

  • Maintain material planning master data and work with Product Managers on product offerings.

  • Work with regional sales and planning teams to develop inventory strategies on existing items, new products and product phase-outs to ensure effective inventory management and customer service.

  • Work with operation and global supply chain teams to reduce slow moving, obsolete inventory and improve inventory turnover.

Customer Satisfaction and Supply Chain projects

  • Meet service performance level.

  • Coordinate cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances and refine forecast and replenishment models.

  • Conduct root cause analysis and drive improvements and coordinate with shared service functions to ensure timely and satisfactory investigation are carried out.

  • Participate and contribute to cross-functional initiatives to increase productivity within supply chain areas.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Mathematics, Statistics, or Business Analytics from an accredited university is a must. 

  • 1-2 years relevant experience or internship in manufacturing, demand planning, production planning or inventory management is preferred.

  • Advanced skills in Excel/Google Sheets and/or statistical forecasting tools is preferred.

  • APICS certified preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and able to communicate and work effectively in a multicultural environment.

  • Excellent team player with a positive “can do” attitude.
