Job Description

The Supply Chain Manager establishes strategies and drives key initiatives to accelerate business results in the areas of inventory management, logistics, cycle time, material costs, overtime, manufacturing operating expenses, and planning. This position provides leadership in aligning strategies with commercial & plant priorities, establishing clear, high expectations for the supply chain function, and delivering exceptional, sustainable results.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and execute short-term and long-term supply chain strategies and initiatives to identify trends, opportunities for marketplace advantage, and improvements to results, processes and services.

  • Use customer needs, industry trends and business needs to create actionable goals that deliver a clear competitive advantage.

  • Drive sustainable functional excellence by leading supply chain professionals in implementing, sustaining, and continuously improving industry and company best practices.

  • Provide clarity, insight and solutions when partnering with supply chain professionals to ensure key metrics are achieved in on-time delivery, working capital, inventory turns, freight expenses, material cost, etc.

  • Openly and effectively communicate results, initiatives, and issues on a regular basis to business and functional leaders, intervening as necessary to improve sites/areas where goals are not being met.

  • Achieve maximum levels of productivity and quality, ensuring that the business benefits from the lowest possible cost and the best value.

  • Ensure compliance with government regulations.

  • Monitor and evaluate team members, and adjust training where needed.

  • Attract, retain and develop high potential talent.

  • Model the Avery Dennison Leadership Principles and promote the Corporation’s Code of Business Ethics and Values.

Qualifications

  • 7+ Years Supply Chain Experience. 3+ years of leadership experience.

  • Working knowledge of best practices for modern manufacturing, material flow and improvement strategies (e.g. Enterprise Lean Sigma, continuous flow, cellular etc.) and the ability to integrate those into the operation.

  • Demonstrated understanding of financial systems and the key drivers within the manufacturing environment.

  • Strong organizational skills in strategy, communication at all levels and execution.

  • Strong leadership skills. Ability to lead, contribute, and influence others in a team-based organization.

  • Excellent organizational and people skills, project management skills, with an ability to openly convey information to team members in a timely, concise manner.

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain solution focused and highly customer-centric attitude in high paced, high stress environment.
