Job Description

  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)

  • Follow all Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements including leading Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR’s) and Management of Change (MOC’s) for new processes and equipment.

  • Develop and maintain Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID’s)

  • Lead training for operation and maintenance departments on new processes and equipment.

  • Lead continuous improvement efforts through process based solutions and small capital projects.

  • Provide technical support on process and production issues as needed.

  • Become a technical leader on polymerization

  • Support day to day operations in the production environment and work with other staff to identify, select, prioritize and execute process improvement projects.

  • Provide general troubleshooting, engineering, maintenance, equipment and daily process assistance to our manufacturing line.

  • Continually improve & optimize current products through variation reduction.

  • Investigating manufacturing problems and collaborating with production teams, analyzing the supporting data, recommending corrective actions, and following through on recommendations to assess their effectiveness.

  • Creating, refining, educating and implementing standard work.

  • Use lean six sigma to eliminate waste, improve material flow, and streamline processes.

  • Assisting and improving the controls, equipment, and maintenance practices used to run the operations.

  • Lead capital projects related to equipment installations, modifications, or upgrades.

  • Support new product development and product design within technical teams.

Qualifications

  • BS Degree in Chemical engineering (or equivalent) required.

  • Strong problem solving skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong PC skills including Google Suite and MS Office; AutoCAD experience a plus.

  • Ability to work at a self-directed, efficient pace and possess a high level of energy and initiative.
