We are seeking an Engineering Intern to join our Label and Graphics Group in North America at our Mill Hall, PA facility during the spring / summer of 2021. The Pilot Plant Engineering Intern under the supervision of the pilot plant engineer and other full time pilot plant staff will implement improvements to existing pilot plant operations by modifying Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and directing the installation or modification of new or existing equipment. This position will support the pilot plant in meeting site Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and Processes Safety Management (PSM) initiatives. The candidate will review existing documentation (e.g., SOPs, piping instrumentation & diagrams (P&IDs), etc.), maintain records including Management of Change (MOC) documentation, and will be required to generate and publish revised documents describing the changes. There will be significant interaction with Site EHS, Capital Project and Process Engineering teams as well as third-party electrical/ mechanical/system integration contractors. The successful candidate will work safely and wear necessary PPE at all times and must adhere to Avery Dennison (AD) Mill Hall site security/EHS policies. Our summer internship program serves as a talent pipeline for our Early Careers Program and throughout the organization.

Build project plans and lead/support projects to completion
Assist pilot plant leadership team and help implement plant initiatives
Support cross-functional teams with special projects as required

What you will need to bring to the program
Avery Dennison has a long history of being an industry leader. Your history is important to us. It should include the following:
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with a focus on Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial.
Previous internship/co-op experience or relevant work experience
Experience with AutoCad software is highly desirable
Completion of computer programming and science lab courses
Experience via student organizations, such as Engineers without Borders, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, American Society of Chemical Engineers, Society of Women Engineers, National Society of Black Engineers, Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers etc.
Volunteerism or similar activities
- Ability to travel 10 - 20 percent of the time
