Job Description

Avery Dennison is hiring a Buyer / Planner for our manufacturing site in Mill Hall, Pennsylvania. The Buyer/Planner is the main contact for raw material purchasing for adhesives.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Daily planning and ordering of all direct raw materials through SAP Business ByDesign. (30%)

  • Processing order acknowledgements and requisite follow-up with suppliers for expedites, delays or replacements, supplier corrective actions. (30%)

  • Resolve three way matching issues between finance and ERP systems. (20%)

All others (20%):

  • Maintain and improve vendor management processes including Supplier Scorecard and Forecasting utilizing statistical analyses.

  • Oversee site inventory management processes for raws (cycle counts, statistically calculated safety stocks, loss reduction projects, SLOB inventory.

  • Manage the initiation, follow-up, and management of the supplier corrective action response (SCAR) process.

  • Develop location assignment for maximum efficiency and minimization of incompatible storage.

  • Works with limited supervision; informal resource for those with less experience.

  • Maintain reports, schedules and other related records.

  • Use computer system ( SAP byDesign ) for tracking , logging, verifying, maintaining records and reporting on inventory, distribution, and/or transportation.

  • Provide inbound receipt labels from SAP byDesign system.

  • Schedule shipments of materials and products with pre-approved transportation services.

  • Develop standard work on all key business activities to build organizational capability.

  • May serve as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, operations management, logistics management, or related degree required.

  • 2+ years previous scheduling, planning, or supply chain experience preferred.

  • Detail oriented and excellent analytical, mathematical, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • Results oriented focus and ability to take ownership to resolve issues. Flexible and willingness to initiate change.

  • High customer focus: ability to proactively identify and meet customer needs.

  • Ability to use ELS problem solving tools to identify root cause (A3 Thinking).

  • Skilled in working independently in a safe and timely manner.

  • Strong time-management and project management skills.

  • Able to effectively build relationships both internally and externally in a positive manner.

  • Able to handle stressful situations.

  • Ability to work in a matrix environment.

  • Understanding or ability to utilize applicable computer systems, such as Microsoft Office, Google (Drive/Sheets/Forms/Docs) , and SAP Business byDesign ERP system.

  • APICS certification preferred.

  • Must be willing and able to work day shift and overtime as needed.
