Under minimal supervision incumbent performs two or more warehousing functions related to production and vendor products: 1) Main Receiving Dock and final disposition of products, 2) Raw Materials receipt, storage and distribution, and 3) Finished goods distribution. This opportunity is on second shift (2:30 PM to 11:00 PM).
Receives, identifies and verifies materials incoming from production and/or outside vendors and stores in appropriate location per specifications and department guidelines.
Distributes and/or stores items per department guidelines and specifications.
Accurately processes and maintains all related documentation via PC and/or handwritten.
Using appropriate material handling equipment loads and/or unloads truckload carriers per specifications.
Prepares orders for shipment per instructions and specifications including pallet labeling, consolidation, or stretch wrapping.
Maintains inventory per department guidelines.
Responds to all inter-company requests for materials and material counts. Incumbent serves as a resource to dept/team members and others in resolving related issues and problems.
As a member of a production support team; trains, assists and supports other team members in problem solving and meeting department goals. Continuously reviews current processes and searches out improvement methods to improve product/process quality, reduce waste, rework, and unnecessary work that adds no value to the work or process.
Performs general housekeeping tasks and waste removal within department/group and assists other areas as required.
Based on business need, assists/supports in other job functions within process or other company processes within scope and ability
High School Diploma or GED.
Demonstrated proficiency in performing basic math calculations including whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
Must have legible handwriting.
Must have good interpersonal communication skills and be able to work with all levels of personnel.
Must be able to accurately follow verbal and written instructions
Must have good judgment and decision making ability
Must be able to continuously stand and/or sit, stretch, reach, stoop and bend.
Must have demonstrated proficiency in utilizing Inventory Control systems database and storage locator systems.
Must have demonstrated skill and safety in using material handling equipment; Order Picker, Swing Reach, Fork Lift, Hand Trucks, Pallet Trucks, and Clamp Truck. Must be able to obtain a Material Handling License.
Must be able to work at varying heights.
Must be safety conscious and alert to safety hazards.
Must be able to lift, carry push and pull up to 50 lbs. and occasionally 100 lbs. with mechanical assistance or the help of another employee. Using appropriate material handing equipment, incumbent maneuvers up to 2000 lbs.
