Job Description
As a Software Product Owner, you will be a point person for our Agile development teams as you are responsible for maximizing the product value by delivering return on investment to the organization. It is important in this role to be able to lead the product development team toward achieving the vision and mission of the organization. You will work closely with our teams to support Sprint and Release Planning, foster team self-awareness, encourage cross-training, decision-making and continuous improvement. The Software Product Owner role will require an individual with strength in planning and managing multiple development projects from start to finish, and ensuring that the offering(s) meet the customer's needs. You must be detail-oriented and have excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
Activities may include, but are not limited to:
Relentlessly focus on converting ideas and customer feedback into functional software features that increase business value
Continuous research and analysis into the market and customer needs to ensure proper directional focus of product development
Develop well structured user stories that include acceptance and test criteria
Continuously work to support backlog maintenance, grooming and prioritization across multiple products and teams
Actively participate in all Agile ceremonies and report status summaries to the broader team and management
Works with Agile team, as well as internal and external stakeholders, to influence and drive decision making and support organizational project or product teams.
Proactively work with other Software Product Owners and Product Managers to develop consolidated product roadmaps
20% travel, some international is required
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of software product owner experience in an Agile environment
Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills with creative and innovative thinking
Demonstrated experience facilitating meetings at multiple levels of an organization and an understanding of facilitation techniques
Working knowledge of Google and Microsoft Office applications
Knowledge and experience with Microsoft's DevOps Agile development tools
Exemplifies and promotes Agile values and principles
Outstanding communication, facilitation, negotiation, and coaching skills
Planning and problem solving with Scrum Masters and delivery teams
Ability to analyze, think quickly and resolve conflicts are they arise
Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, relationship building skills, and ability to achieve results without direct reporting relationships
Ability to adapt to a changing environment
Excellent attention to detail
Self-motivation and ability to stay focused across multiple projects
- Ideally you will also have:
Desire to evolve process driven requirement development, using for example Domain Driven Design
Ability to drive to big picture goals and milestones while valuing and maintaining a strong attention to detail
Ability to quickly identify and drive to the optimal solution when presented with a series of constraints
Strong sense of personal responsibility and accountability for delivering high quality work, both personally and at a team level
