The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for developing and leading projects across manufacturing, supply chain and service organizations to increase productivity, maximize efficiency, reduce waste and drive down costs. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, is a self starter and has experience in continuous improvement activities, lean, and six sigma. Responsibility will include maintaining data integrity for bills of material, routings, and standard operating procedures.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
Activities may include, but are not limited to:
Conceptualize and design product tooling, along with tool management on Bill of Materials and communication with suppliers.
Act as a resource to the plant for cost reductions, quality, safety or ergonomic projects
Develop standards for processes and tooling to drive cost reduction, improve quality, or other product specification changes
Responsible for all aspects of a project from idea generation, project development, and justification, as well as execution (scope, schedule, and budget)
Support R&D Engineering on new product development projects as assigned, with emphasis on product cost development (labor, packaging, tooling, and raw material production costs) .
Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place.
Responsible for Bill of Material generation, Routing creation and all associated product specifications to be communicated to the manufacturing team.
Understands and implements ISO 9000 procedures.
Assist in maintaining ISO certification.
Attend all required safety training.
Understanding of applicable computer systems, such as Microsoft Office and Google Apps (mail, docs, sheets, slides, forms)
Knowledgeable in Oracle ERP system
Good Math and analytical skills.
Good verbal and written skills
Good organization and attention to detail
General scientific and engineering knowledge
Ability to interface with cross-functional groups to define and execute overall requirements.
Familiarity in process documentation and improvement
Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing or Systems Engineering with 3+ years of experience. (Required)
ASQ Six Sigma Green Belt (Preferred) or equivalent certification
