Machine Repair Technician - 3rd Shift with $2.00 Shift Premium

In our Miamisburg, Ohio location, our teams work to produce an extensive line of stock and custom labels, tickets and tags, printers and other related products for some of the largest organizations in logistics, food and retail.

The Team Members We're Looking For...

Our Machine Repair Team is looking to add a teammate to its 2nd shift team to help provide support to the Production and Facilities Teams through the service and repair of all machines, equipment and structures in and around the site.

During the course of your day, some of the things you’d be doing include:

  • Providing support to the production team to produce superior quality materials that meet/exceed client needs. This role supports the needs of manufacturing and facilities to ensure both are in top working order.

  • Examining mechanical equipment to diagnose trouble.

  • Locating and diagnosing failures, replacing defective components and performing basic troubleshooting using standard equipment, detailed drawings, diagrams, sketches, specifications, prints, manuals and verbal and/or written instructions.

  • Assuring correct positioning of production machines.

  • Performing preventative maintenance on equipment including following a strict preventative maintenance schedule to lessen exposure to downtime-related repairs and maintenance.

  • Inspecting and maintaining shop equipment in accordance with OSHA regulation.

  • Repairing and maintaining machinery and mechanical equipment such as pneumatic tools, motors, conveyor systems and production machines and equipment using testing instruments, hand and power tools and precision-measuring instruments.

  • Disassembling machines and repairing or replacing broken parts.

  • Adjusting functional parts of mechanical devices as necessary.

  • Cleaning and lubricating machine parts.

  • Inspecting completed repairs.


What You Need to Have to be Considered for the Role...

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (e.g., GED)

  • 3 - 5 years demonstrated experience in a mechanical repair environment.   Applied education and/or apprenticeship is required.  

  • Demonstrated experience in the use of precision measuring equipment and hand tools. 

  • Demonstrated experience/working knowledge of trigonometry, geometry and shop math.

  • Demonstrated experience/working knowledge in hydraulics and pneumatics.  

  • Must be proficient in the set-up and operation of mills, drills, lathes, grinders, surface grinders, etc.

  • Good interpersonal skills, mathematical aptitude, mechanical/technical skills and aptitude and logical problem-solving skills necessary.

  • Good verbal and written communication.

  • Able to work in fast-paced environment with a highly participative work system.

  • Ability to work independently in a safe and timely manner necessary.

  • Must be motivated towards productivity improvements, safety and quality awareness.

  • Must be able to lift 50lbs alone and team lift 100lbs

  • Must be open to working overtime (there are periods of mandatory and voluntary overtime)

Your Work Environment

This is a manufacturing work environment. That means that there is exposure to heated equipment, dust, oil, cleaning solvents and noise. There is frequent bending and stooping in this work. Most importantly, you must wear department-required safety equipment.
