Avery Dennison is seeking a Technical Leader to join the North America Graphics Solutions team. This role will be responsible for developing and managing custom solutions, as well a generating customer and technology insights through dedicated end-user engagement, benchmarking and product re-design efforts. You will have a deep understanding of materials technology and strong business insight. They will be able to structure complex problems and navigate organizational structures internally and externally to meet customer needs, while managing complexity and overall business profitability.
Field inbound customer requests for new or custom products and develop unique material solutions as supported by the opportunity.
Assess individual project opportunity as well as broader market potential of new solutions to make go / no-go decisions on development.
Plan and lead projects to a successful conclusion. Collaborate cross-functionally with product management, sales, customer service and technical service, as well as with outside parties as required (i.e.: material suppliers, development partners, etc.).
Manage product benchmarking projects and help connect materials science to product performance and customer value propositions.
Collect intelligence of customer trends, competitive technology, and new product applications.
Actively demonstrate insights to develop new business and generate new product ideas.
Bachelor’s Degree is required
Technical degree (chemistry, material or polymer science, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering) and/or MBA is preferred
5+ Years engineering or technical sales and marketing experience
Strong project management skills and attention to detail are required
Industry experience in pressure-sensitive graphics, wrapping, paint protection and window films is helpful.
Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and lead projects
