Avery Dennison is seeking a Supply Chain Supervisor for our Medical business located in Mentor, OH. This position is referred to as the Service Materials and Logistics Supervisor internally.
In this role, you will ensure supervised department meets daily/annual goals by assessing and suggesting new procedures and processes to increase efficiency. You will analyze and plan material requirements for both direct and indirect materials to support manufacturing by figuring out the volume/timing of materials needed and ensuring efficient inventory levels.
Use planning systems and processes to make and execute machine and staffing capacity planning decisions. Review capacity to identify and communicate bottleneck areas and manage over/under capacity situations with the Operations Department.
Prepare shop work orders for materials and product processing and coordinate with schedulers to ensure that items are being processed according to specifications and time requirements.
Coordinate supply chain, material management, and logistics activities with internal/external customers.
Maintain stocking levels of Buy/Resell products according to customer demand.
Resolve match exceptions in a timely manner. Call out price variances to pricing administrators to avoid future discrepancies.
Review customer forecasts, hard demand, and trends in manufacturing, sales, distribution, general business conditions and other related areas as required.
Serve as a liaison to a business unit to ensure their supply chain, material management, and logistics needs are met. Act as a point for interpretation of related policies and procedures.
Furnish reports as needed to forecast estimates and schedules related to inventory, distribution, transportation, and/or production.
Work with other functions to find opportunities to improve the process efficiency and improvement plan.
Develop, recommend, and coordinate the implementation of new procedures.
Proactively communicate supply chain issues and provide alternatives.
Partner with Operations to achieve production goals.
Actively participate in training to expand technical skills and improve services provided.
Coordinate that materials are received, stored, shipped, and reported in accordance with established procedures.
Understand and ensure compliance with cGMP, ISO 13485, and FDA CFR21 regulations.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
Bachelor’s Degree is required.
5+ years SML or related experience required with supervisory or lead experience preferred.
Proficient understanding of the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of Supply Chain, Materials Management, and Logistics and all related focus areas.
Excellent analytical skills.
Understanding of applicable computer systems, such as ERP/ MRP systems, Microsoft Office, Gmail, Oracle, Ariba, and function specific software.
Experience in a regulated industry, such as Medical Device, pharmaceutical, or other industry preferred.
Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, verbal and written communication skills and detail-oriented, with an ability to collaborate with cross-functional groups to define and execute overall requirements.
Good project management and business partnering skills.
Green Belt or ELS certification preferred.
