What we are looking for
Avery Dennison’s North America Supply Chain Leadership Development Program (SC LDP) has a single business focus to build talent for our rapidly growing organization. With a concentrated blend of experiential on-the-job learning and classroom and virtual training, the SC LDP serves as the talent pipeline for leadership roles throughout the organization.
We are searching for individuals who are interested in applying their analytical and tactical skill set to help solve problems that have a direct, minute by minute impact to the business to be our next Supply Chain Associate. SC Associates receive in-depth exposure to both geographical and functional parts of the organization by rotating through two to three different assignments that blend manufacturing leadership, operations planning and logistics over the course of 30 months.The position is based in Mentor, Ohio - outside Cleveland. We are only considering individuals who are excited about relocating to Northeast Ohio and potentially again to IN, PA, or GA during and after graduating from the program.
The SC LDP Associate will typically rotate through some of the following roles/functions:

What you will be doing
The primary roles and responsibilities of this LDP position will be:
Apply continuous improvement methodologies to advance performance and achieve business objectives (Six Sigma, Kaizen, Lean, etc.)
Provide effective linkages to sales, customer service, purchasing, marketing, supply chain and operations
Develop and manage supplier relationships and monitor supplier performance
Monitor service and inventory performance, anticipate and respond to problems effectively
Ensure compliance with all Sarbanes Oxley requirements relevant to materials processes
Establish and monitor systems and processes to achieve targeted performance and identify deviations from same
What you will need to bring to the program
Avery Dennison has a long history of being an industry leader. Your history is important to us. It should include the following:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Materials Management, Supply Chain Management or related field required. Expected graduation date should be December 2019 (to start in January 2020) or May 2020 (to start in June 2020)
Highly organized and self-motivated
Solid analytical skills and strong attention to detail
Ability to communicate a clear project plan and drive it to completion
Willingness to work in a team environment
Ability to handle multiple activities at a time and ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks
Expertise in Excel/Google Sheets and Powerpoint/Google Slides
Ability to work well cross-functionally and take on hands-on projects in the plants or with customers
Previous internship or co-op experience required
Leadership experience via student organizations, athletics, intramural sports, volunteerism or similar activities
Flexibility and willingness to relocate to Northeast Ohio and potentially again to IN, PA, or GA during and after graduating from the program
Ability to travel up to 10 percent of the time
