This role will be responsible for supporting key strategic initiatives and long term strategy within Avery Dennison’s Graphics business in North America, This newly created role will play a pivotal role supporting the leadership team in defining long-term vision, identifying attractive growth opportunities, evaluating potential M&A and venture targets, assessing new segments, market and product opportunities, key strategic alliances and joint initiatives with partners; and segment growth initiatives. This position will provide critical strategic and tactical consultation with the Graphics North America leadership team.
Define long-term vision and translate it into a strategy plan.
Identify and assess new growth opportunities, including industry trends, growth drivers, ecosystem structure, competitive dynamics and revenue and profit pools.
Collaborate with functional leaders to develop strategic implications and recommendations for the overall strategy and solution roadmap.
Conduct market sizing (calculating TAM & SAM) and market forecast analysis.
Drive competitive landscape analysis.
Scan external technology environment for strategic alliances, business partners, potential joint venture partners, ideas, concepts, and support existing strategic partnership activities, such as joint business development activities and key joint projects.
Perform financial analysis of new business opportunities including sales and market share projections, P&L statements, balance sheets, statement of cash flows, NPV and IRR calculations; carry out sensitivity analysis to identify impact of changes in key hypotheses.
Develop strategic and tactical/business plans which effectively lead to the development of new businesses within the company.
Identify and support M&A and venture investment activity.
Strong use of external sources (such as Euromonitor, Capital IQ, etc.) and ecosystem engagement to drive insights
Bachelor’s degree required.
10+ years business experience, emphasizing strategic marketing or strategy and corporate development desired.
Experience in planning & forecasting, with practical experience in researching new opportunities and implementing successful new business models and non traditional growth strategies
Must be able to champion new business ventures.
Excellent financial skills, analytical skills and business acumen.
Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills.
Strong teamwork and relationship building skills and financial and business acumen.
Understanding of applicable computer systems, such as Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes and function specific software.
Excellent organizational and people skills, project management skills, with an ability to openly convey information to team members in a timely, concise manner.
Strong customer focus and orientation.
Six Sigma or Black Belt a plus.
