We are seeking an experienced and strategic senior communications manager to join the Global Communications team at Avery Dennison. Reporting to the Vice President of Global Communications, the person in this role will design and develop communications that support the company’s business objectives, and drive enterprise initiatives that engage employees and elevate the company’s reputation. The manager will work directly with all levels of management, partnering with internal client groups, including HR, Finance and Legal, to deliver communication strategies and content that effectively engage employees and other key stakeholders. Primary focus areas include business communications, sustainability, values and ethics, diversity and inclusion, and employee benefits/well-being.
Specifically, he/she will:
Develop strategic communications plans, identify key messages and produce high-impact materials that effectively convey timely and relevant information to diverse audiences across all business units, globally.
Develop enterprise-wide campaigns themed around business priorities including sustainability and diversity and inclusion; collaborate with communications partners across businesses for implementation.
Manage corporate presence on the company’s intranet, introducing compelling content and interactive campaigns; own enterprise content strategy/editorial calendar and curate content for the weekly all-employee newsletter.
Champion employee engagement and collaboration through new and existing enterprise channels, including executive videos, town hall meetings, special events and more.
Build a more transparent and open communications culture through strategic manager communications and toolkits that connect leaders to key business priorities and empower them to be effective communicators.
Collaborate with internal clients to design, implement, and measure communications programs and activities that drive business results.
Serve as communications partner to the head of Compliance, launching quarterly toolkits and leading the V&E website refresh.
Serve as communications partner to the Avery Dennison Foundation (ADF), developing employee communications that support ADF/CSR programs and initiatives.
Serve as communications partner to the Chief Human Resources Officer, developing employee communications related to key HR initiatives.
Lead the planning and execution of the company’s annual Worldwide Leadership Meeting of VPs and above and thel Leadership Excellence Awards, creating a culture of recognition.
The manager, Global Corporate Communications will have 6-10 years of experience in a communications role, working across business and geographical boundaries. A bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism or related field is required; a master’s degree is a plus.Individual should be:

Able to operate effectively as a self-starter, but also participate in a team-oriented and collaborative environment.
Strong attention to detail and excellent interpersonal skills; strong analytical and project management skills.

Superb writing, editing and verbal communication skills.
Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously with a high degree of quality, speed, and flexibility for change.
Highly skilled at communicating with global internal audiences through a variety of channels and employing innovative strategies and tactical solutions.
Results-driven; able to meet deadlines and establish clear priorities quickly.
Able to develop and maintain excellent working relationships; proven track record of working with all levels of employees, from the factory floor to the c-suite.
