Job Description
Avery Dennison is seeking a Project Leader to support our Research & Development team for our Avery Dennison Medical business located in Mentor, OH. Reporting to the Global Program Manager, you will be responsible for project planning of our CHG product line, which includes defining project scope, project landmarks, and developing tasks with estimates. You will be encouraged to author project plans that meet business objectives and stay in sync with the our quality management system.
Primary Responsibilities and Job Functions:
Prioritize the project tasks by identifying the critical path, remove any obstacles or barriers, resolve issues or conflicts to progress the project
Help to identify partners; work with all functions to build consensus on areas for improvement
Facilitate project team meetings, set agendas, publish meeting minutes, follow-up on action items, and maintain required project documentation; ensures deliverables are completed and detailed to meet the quality requirements following design control procedures
Lead cross functional teams to drive key activities throughout development phases of device and combination products, and facilitate the deliverables to support regulatory filing, product launch and post market surveillance.
Empower and lead the team to achieve set project objectives
Responsible for communicating project key metrics and updates on project status (timelines, resources, and delays) to both the project team as well as management and key project stakeholders
Develop, assist in developing, and/or execute protocols and evaluations of products affected by design changes
Partner for improvement of product development, manufacturing, packaging, and labeling processes and procedures
Author new or modified procedures to address opportunities for improvement
Qualifications
BA/BS, preferably in an Engineering, scientific or healthcare discipline. PMP certification is preferred.
3-5 years of project management experience required. Experience in pharma and/or medical device product development would be a plus.
Good experience with Design Controls, ISO 13485, ISO 14971, and other applicable global standards.
Good facilitation, customer service, relationship building and communication skills.
Good project management skills with knowledge of Excel or Project Management tracking software (e.g. Microsoft Project, Smartsheets, etc)
Detail oriented; strong analytical skills, organizational skills and problem management skills
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with ability to influence effectively without authority
Comfort and confidence in interacting with / presenting to all levels in an organization.
Demonstrates initiative; results oriented; strong sense of urgency.
Attested experience leading multiple projects with opposing priorities.
Up to 25% travel may be required.
