The Product Quality Engineer serves as the case manager for material-related quality issues, as well as driving quality information and improvement within the organization. This role is focused on creating robust solutions to enhance Customer’s experience with our products throughout the value stream.
Activities and duties will vary dependent upon functional area assigned. Activities may include, but are not limited to:
Act as a customer advocate, providing valuable feedback to the organization on customer satisfaction and application requirements.
Lead solution creating initiatives to address customer product problems through interactive problem solving with the Customer, Sales, Tech Service, R&D, and the manufacturing sites.
Extract, analyze, and communicate quality performance data for both Customers and internal stakeholders.
Coordinate material testing in order to diagnose product issues.
Lead quality improvement projects which address critical shortfalls in materials and/or processing.
Support claim entry activities when required as a backup to the Claims Analyst.
Lead problem solving and claim disposition.
Interact with customers as required via email and telephone to diagnose performance issues and communicate corrective actions. Interactions may take place at the customer site (<5% travel anticipated).
Provide training when needed to both team members and external personnel.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Material Science with 2+ years technical experience
Preferred prior manufacturing experience
Familiar with analytical techniques used to characterize material physical and chemical characteristics
Strong customer service skills - written, verbal and telephone communication skills
Understanding of applicable computer software and systems, such as Google G Suite, Lotus Notes, and function specific software (e.g. PowerPoint, Excel, Word, QIS, Oracle)
Attention to detail & organizational skills
