Job Description

Avery Dennison is seeking a results-oriented Financial Analyst to join the North American - Graphics Solutions Division in Mentor, OH. In this role, you will play a critical role within our North American FP&A and Commercial Finance Team. You will strive for continuous improvements in the division’s financial analysis tools, data and reporting/analysis capabilities, as well as ensure all business-performance reporting and analytics are timely and accurate. You will work collaboratively across a variety of functional areas and activities by taking the lead in analyzing, understanding and providing financial insight, allowing for quicker and improved decision-making by the organization.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of variance analyses (versus Plan, Forecast, Prior Year, etc.) on several key financial metrics.

  • Prepare and provide assistance on monthly/quarterly forecast for Graphics and Window Film businesses with insight from functional leadership and finance manager.

  • Own process to load Actuals, Plan and Forecast into HFM Graphics memo entity and Window Film entity, including coordination of input updates from extended finance team.

  • Provide financial information to assist management and functional owners in making well-informed business decisions, including the preparation of key financial reporting packages/summaries at month end and at other times.

  • Drive continuous improvement, standardization efforts and compliance initiatives (including compliance of SOX, Trade Compliance and Audit requests). Understand key business unit operating metrics/drivers and measure performance to established metrics.

  • Work directly with the Sales and Marketing teams on improvements to current reporting and developing new and improved tools that allow us to more effectively achieve our goals, including dashboards and price-volume-mix analysis.

  • Drive continuous improvements in Oracle Business Intelligence for Graphics and Window Film businesses.

  • Run all weekly and monthly reporting, including but not limited to Daily Performance Tracker, Daily Window Film Sales Report, Product Line Report, Customer Segmentation Report and Forecast, Window Film Weekly Shipments/Orders in HFM, Other Financial Reports (Fin Pack).

  • Assist with the core FP&A processes/activities, including Annual Operating Planning, Quarterly Forecasting and periodic business reviews.

  • Perform special projects and ad-hoc financial reporting/analysis requests as required by VP/GM and/or Global Finance Director.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or similar.

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of Accounting or Finance experience, operating in a “fast-paced” culture.

Skills / Competencies:

  • High-energy self-starter with history of successful accomplishments.

  • Experience with financial analysis tools and analysis of financial documents.

  • Solid financial acumen (analytical skills), attention to detail, and problem solving skills.

  • Strong oral and written communication/presentation skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively and build relationships with all levels of the organization.

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, specifically on-the-job experience with Macros, Pivot Tables and V-Lookups preferred.

  • Strong work ethic and initiative. Possesses a strong desire to learn about the business side of the Graphics Organization and truly become a part of the organization.

  • Great teammate and customer focused.

  • Oracle, Oracle BI and Hyperion experience a plus.
