Overview

Avery Dennison’s North American Talent Acquisition Team is a strategic business partner focusing on identifying, recruiting, and selecting talent for our growing organization. As an integral part of our recruiting function, our Diversity & Inclusion sourcing efforts serve as a pipeline of high potential talent into the organization for more engaged employees. We are currently looking for a Diversity & Inclusion Recruitment Manager to join our team and elevate our business impact.

In this role you will partner with HR, Business leaders, hiring managers, talent acquisition team members and external partners to design and develop strategies to help us acquire diverse talent and talent from our military branches. We will also look to you to assist us in consistently developing an overall diverse pipeline of talent for various roles within the company.

This position will ideally be based in Mentor, OH

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gain an understanding of business/position requirements, recruitment, and market needs to effectively create the diverse sourcing strategies

  • Develop recruiting strategy & objectives to attract diverse talent. Continually improve & evaluate current and potential diversity recruitment practices, ideas, opportunities, and affinity partnerships to increase ability to source diverse candidates

  • Create, track, and communicate diversity recruitment metrics including spending, hires per source, efficiency, and effectiveness of diversity recruitment efforts/channels

  • Initiate and determine engagement strategy for relationships with internal (Affinity Groups) and external organizations that are potential sources of diverse talent

  • Build effective partnerships within the Talent Acquisition team to make sure there is a smooth flow across the diversity sourcing/research efforts and the active candidate generation for open positions.

  • Work with TA and Communications to increase Avery Dennison’s employer brand in diverse communities, such as colleges and universities, professional associations, chambers of commerce, and community organizations that support company recruiting goals

  • Determine and communicate a plan for maintaining and tracking the diversity and veteran talent pipeline within the ATS.

  • Provide training, communication and guidance around the Affirmative Action Plan (AAP) program, goals by site and ensure consistency of processes across our Avery Dennison sites.

  • Understand and educate senior management on current diversity issues and trends as they pertain to recruitment

  • Represent Avery Dennison at diversity-related forums hosted by professional organizations

  • Partner with HR and Learning & Development to buy or develop training modules for recruiters, hiring managers and interview teams to support assessment and hiring of military veterans and underrepresented candidates.

  • Attend recruiting events tailored towards veterans and diversity with Jr. Diversity Recruiter as appropriate

  • Performs other recruiting activities and completes special projects or requests as needed

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of hands on corporate experience recruiting

  • Recent/relevant work experience in Diversity and/or Veteran Recruiting

  • Bachelor's degree required. Masters Degree Preferred.

  • Experience managing business relationships with diversity & community organizations and/or recruitment vendors.

  • AAP knowledge/expertise preferred

  • Deep experience using sourcing tools like LinkedIn

  • Previous Applicant Tracking System or CRM experience

  • Demonstrated passion for diversity, inclusion and supporting our veterans

  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence stakeholders and drive them towards particular hiring goals.

  • Must be a creative thinker with the ability to come up with new solutions to old problems.

  • Early adopter of technology, and skilled at using technology to improve work process and outcomes.

  • Prior working experience with Google (including Gmail, Sheets, Collaboration Sites, etc.) strongly preferred

  • Ability to deliver a high level of work output, and meet deadlines, in a dynamic environment.

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Travel (some local) up to 25%
