Job Description

Avery Dennison has an immediate opening for an experienced Supply Chain professional to fulfill the role of Buyer/Planner. This role will report to the Service, Materials & Logistics Manager and prepare business-related analysis and research for Supply Chain, Materials Management, and/or Logistics. The individual will focus on activities related to Buying, Planning, Scheduling, and Inventory / Material Control. The role will also focus on improvements to processes and data analysis to make informed decisions.

Key responsibilities:

As part of our team, this individual will operate under general mentorship from the Master Production Schedulers and Service, Materials & Logistics Manager to ensure execution of daily operational efficiencies and implementation of key business objectives.

  • Manage and improve raw material planning and ordering processes: conduct daily planning/ordering for all raw materials; analyze raw material usage in response to demand or supply changes; improve and standardize daily planning processes.

  • Maintain and improve vendor management processes, including Supplier Scorecard and Forecasting

  • Manage site raw material inventory to achieve service and inventory objectives. Lead all aspects of site inventory management processes for raws (cycle counts, loss reduction projects, SLOB inventory).

  • Identify and lead projects to improve raw planning, inventory management, and service.

  • Provide support for new product introductions or transitions.

Qualifications

  • High school degree or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • 4 - 5 years previous scheduling, planning, or supply chain experience.

  • Detail oriented and excellent analytical, mathematical, organizational, verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional groups to define and implement overall requirements.

  • Ability to conduct research, prepare comprehensive reports, and present complex statistical information in a clear and succinct fashion.

  • Ability to work well with all levels of management and employees.

  • Ability to learn quickly and work in a team environment to achieve the end result.

  • Flexibility and willingness to initiate change and lead change.

  • High customer focus: ability to proactively identify and meet customer needs.

  • Understanding of applicable computer systems, such as Microsoft Office, Google Applications, Oracle R12, Oracle ASCP, Oracle BI, etc
