Job Description

• Analyze and plan material requirements for both direct and indirect materials to support manufacturing by determining the volume/timing of materials needed. Ensure optimal inventory levels.

• Develop stocking strategies for both direct and indirect materials based on customer requirements, supplier lead times, and usage.

• Collaborate with Regional Procurement and other Avery Dennison divisions on identifying cost effective suppliers and alternative sourcing options for indirect materials.

• Coordinate delivery of materials from offsite warehouses/consignment locations.

• Review operational schedules and coordinate deliveries of materials to support mfg needs.

• Complete routine inventories of indirect materials on a frequent basis to ensure materials are available for use.

• Participate in bi-annual plant physical inventories of direct materials at two Avery Dennison locations.

• Audit invoices to ensure that correct charges have been applied.

• Place purchase orders with suppliers and performs proper follow up and confirmation.

• Review open order reports on a frequent basis, as well as stocking levels, to ensure timeliness of deliveries with proper follow up. Complete vendor reliability assessments.

• Understanding of international shipping regulations. Collaborate with Trade Compliance on import security filings, IncoTerm designation (Procurement), and customs release of direct materials.

• Maintain stocking levels of Buy/Resell products according to customer demand.

• Place intra-company purchase orders, award bids, and arrange pick up through international transportation portal.

• Resolve match exceptions in a timely manner. Escalate price variances to pricing administrators to avoid future discrepancies.

• Assist in the development of policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure quality and cost control.

• Maintain appropriate records and prepare reports.

• Coordinate supply chain, material management, and logistics activities with internal/external customers.

• Review customer forecasts, hard demand, and trends in manufacturing, sales, distribution, general business

conditions and other related areas as required.

• Recommend process improvements and develop continuous improvement tools.

• Interface with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor, and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met.

• Serve as a liaison to a business unit to ensure their supply chain, material management, and logistics needs are met. Act as a point for interpretation of related policies and procedures.

• Serve as back up to planners in Supply Chain department.

• Understand and ensure compliance with cGMP, ISO 13485, and FDA CFR21 regulations.

• Perform other tasks as assigned.



• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field strongly preferred.

• 3-5 years Supply Chain/ Logistics or related experience.

• Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, verbal and written communication skills and detail-oriented.

• Ability to interface with cross-functional groups to define and execute overall requirements.

• Ability to conduct research, prepare reports, and present statistical information in a clear and succinct fashion.

• Ability to work well with all levels of management and employees.

• Understanding of applicable computer systems, such as ERP/ MRP systems, Microsoft Office, Gmail, Oracle,

Ariba, and function specific software.

• Experience in a regulated industry, such as Medical Device, pharmaceutical, or other industry strongly recommended.
