About Your Role

As the Global Business Development Manager, Denim, you are responsible for driving top line growth and developing new business opportunities for the denim category. Working closely with the Sales and Product Line Management & Innovation teams you will identify and evaluate market opportunities that convert into new or incremental sales. BDs are market experts for their categories, and utilize this expertise to strategically create value, drive sales wins and gain share in the market. You will be responsible for articulating our global consumer insights, trends, and innovations into a go-to market approach, as well as responsible for empowering the commercial organization with knowledge on the denim portfolio.

Your Responsibilities

•Expertise in the denim market, including trends/insights, external market drivers and customer ecosystem

•Lead, develop and execute go-to-market strategy with relevant category statistics & identify new business opportunities for share gain

•Partner with Commercial Directors to build & deliver denim category growth targets

•Responsible for category management, including market analysis, trend insight, future category state and product development influence in partnership with our Product Experts, Operations, and Program Management teams

•Drive Senior Leadership wiring within category expertise with our customers, the retail brand owners

•Execute plan to deliver against goals and measure quarterly results against plan

•In-depth knowledge of branding and labeling products used on denim

•Understanding of innovation and design techniques used in the creation of denim fashion

•Knowledge of the denim production ecosystem; factories, wash-houses, manufacturing processes

•Strong industry wiring with knowledge of global denim brands, key category stakeholders & influencers

•Ability to interpret category trends into relevant branding and labeling solutions & products

•Creative presentations to internal/external category stakeholders including industry speaking opportunities

•Execute plan to deliver against goals and measure quarterly results against plan


Your Qualifications

• Self-starter, takes initiative, and has an entrepreneurial spirit that is able to work independently and collaboratively

• Ability to understand and create value; demonstrated track record developing and executing new business ventures

• Strong influencing skills, public speaking skills and ability to champion projects both cross functionally and vertically within the organization

• Strategic sales management experience, international exposure preferred

• Bachelor’s degree required

• 12+ years related business experience, emphasizing sales, business development and marketing desired• Demonstrated success in cross-regional projects or initiatives• Strong experience negotiating large/major contracts• Advanced business and financial acumen needed• Experience in planning and forecasting, with practical experience in researching new opportunities and Implementing successful account penetration• Excellent organizational and people skills, project management skills, with an ability to openly convey information to team members in a timely, concise manner• Experience in strategic leadership and negotiation• Understanding of applicable computer systems, such as Microsoft Office, Google Suite tools and function specific software.• Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills

• Apparel industry relationships preferred

• Denim or related market experience preferred
