Job Description
HYBRID ROLE
Opportunity
The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the financial operations of the Company by providing accounting, compliance, analysis, reporting and reconciliations to support month end close. This is a hybrid role.
► Key Areas of Responsibility
Complete assigned tasks as regular part of month end closing process in accordance with month end closing schedule.
Compile and analyze financial information to prepare journal entries documenting business transactions related to each month-end close.
Participate in preparation of monthly financial packages, tax packages, year-end audit/annual report, and any additional reporting/analytical reviews requested by management.
Maintain reconciliations for balance sheet accounts, including balancing all intercompany accounts monthly.
Reconcile perpetual inventory balances to general ledger balances and research any discrepancies.
Coordinate obsolete inventory accounting with operations associates to ensure that obsolete inventory reserve is adequate and inventory values on the balance sheet are accurate.
Prepare Capital Expenditure Requests for approval, track capital expenditures, maintain all fixed asset records for the company, and record monthly depreciation and amortization journal entries.
Prepare daily cash recap and send to upper management.
Management of departmental projects, including the implementation of accounting changes.
Qualifications
► Key Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or similar field required, plus five years of general ledger and financial statement reporting experience.
This position requires daily use of an accounting software package for a medium size company. Previous experience with this type of software is required.
Previous project management experience preferred.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are required.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, and other associates required.
Ability to show proficiency in the following computer applications: MS Office applications, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
Ability to embody and reflect Vestcom’s core values
Additional Information
The salary range for this position is $66,225-$110,375 year
The hiring [base salary / wage rate] range above represents what Avery Dennison reasonably expects to pay for this position as of the date of this posting. Actual salaries will vary within the range, and in some circumstances may be above or below the range, based on various factors including but not limited to a candidate’s relevant skills, experience, education and training, and location, as well as the job scope and complexity, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel required for the position, which may change depending on the candidate pool.
