Job Description

The US Automation Team Lead, Developer leads and develops a team of up to 10 Automation Formatters and/or Developers to assure timely and accurate item setups for ordering and production. Main responsibilities are to provide production support for automated solutions, clerical support during Product Development and to assure quality.

  • Coordinate and supervise the daily activities of the team and own tasks such as: attendance/vacation schedule, claims, training, coaching, development and performance reviews

  • Manage team schedule and escalations, report performance and communicate/collaborate with other functions/departments

  • Make recommendations on how to improve current procedures and processes

  • Provide guidance and support to new customer programs and initiatives, ensuring automation solutions are available in time

  • Provide support to any reported issues relating to either setup of new products and/or amended products or errors with existing routines

  • Ensure adherence of existing standards such as coding conventions, procedures, operational manuals and consistency of formatting, etc.

  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of setups on a global basis for all automation maintained programs.

  • Maintain the Font and Logo library and ensure proper filing and documentation of format specifications and created formats

  • Purchase materials and supplies

  • Manage Equipment contracts / Service calls

Qualifications

  • Ability to work independently

  • Ability to handle department activities

  • Good communication skills and team player spirit

  • Experience in people management is an advantage

  • 1-4 years of graphic design experience using graphics software (Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, etc.)

  • Experience with thermal printers and configurations a plus

  • Basic programming knowledge is an advantage

  • System integration and production workflow understanding is an advantage

  • Detail and problem solving oriented

  • Troubleshooting skills

  • Good command of English (written and spoken)

  • Strong written and oral communications skills

  • Strong proofreading skills and attention to detail

  • Strong documentation skills
