As a member of the RFID Product Development team, this role supports the new product development team by creating and maintaining the technical specification, artwork and product drawings collection.
Create and maintain product drawings and specifications
Develop key processes with artwork houses, etch houses, and engravers/platemakers; manages these key processes and ensures these suppliers deliver quality products
Responsible for vendor management of antenna, cylinder engravers, plate, die, and other tooling suppliers.
Member of prepress team and key point of contact for both artwork houses and engravers/platemakers
Prepare web layouts, die, and tooling drawings
Prepare packaging drawings and submit for approvals
Proofing/preflighting of incoming graphic and CAD files for correct printing & size specifications
Provide periodic reports of artwork status, issues/corrective actions, critical timelines
Assure all information related to art and print tools is updated, accurate and maintained in planning and financial systems
Assist with order management and order engineering, including process development and first articles
Tracking artwork, products through process flow, scheduling engravers, printers, etchers, etc.
Assist with cost estimates for new products
Lead and document team meetings such as artwork enhancement, design reviews and release
Responsible for ensuring the accuracy and thoroughness of information, including maintenance and archival of files
Communicate critical process, lead time, etc. information and requirements to other RFID groups
- Associate's degree required (Bachelor preferred)
Experience in manufacturing environment in a professional role.
Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Experience in an ISO environment.
Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills - verbal and written.
Computer design and applications knowledge in PC and Macintosh.
Proficient in AutoCad and Adobe Illustrator, Solidworks also preferred
Experience in continuous web handling operations - printing, coating, & converting
Effective negotiation and facilitation skills
High degree of commitment and initiative
Must possess attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-up on responsibilities
Ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels
Team based management style and interaction skills
Proficient with Lotus Notes, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint, and Visio
Must be flexible on work hours and willing to travel 10%
