Job Description

As Senior Cyber Security Engineer you provide consulting support to the business units in designing and implementing secure business solutions as well as in assisting in design and vulnerability assessments for internal and Internet based systems. Hereby, you develop, test, and implement appropriate safeguards, document implementation and process control procedures. Eventually, you assist with installing and configuring of safeguards at appropriate points in the Avery Dennison network, and respond as necessary to any security incident.

Specific areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:

Incident Response

Assist with incident response handling and forensics management of evidence. Respond to security incidents with latest in endpoint and cloud technologies. Manage and monitor SIEM for suspicious system activity and handle investigations using proper forensic methodologies and regulations.

Firewall

Support for firewall installations and in support of business unit requirements. Assure Firewall and Web infrastructures follow established standards and follow security best practices. Implement proper encryption technology for data wherever possible when the Internet is used to do Avery Dennison business. This includes implementation of Virtual Private Networks (VPN) and third party encryption/decryption for other Avery Dennison information services over the internet.

Security Consulting

Lead security component and assist in architectural design for acquisition integrations.

New Technology

Evaluate new security technologies for integration with existing systems. Develop production implementation procedures for new products and technologies.

Troubleshooting

Capable of troubleshooting processes which demonstrate both infrastructure and application dependencies across systems that communicate over the enterprise network. Identifying and resolving possible security risks in the application and infrastructure. Assist regional and site IT in resolution of such problems.

Security Education

Provide employee and IT personnel Information Security awareness training.

Project Management

Project management and implementation of complex security systems that integrate systems securely into company infrastructure.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or similar field, or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of information security experience with a focus on incident response, network, application and architecture.

  • Relevant security industry certifications preferred including but not limited to CISSP, SSCP, and CISM etc.

  • Experience in Firewall installation and configuration plus a good understanding of technology concepts across Windows, UNIX, Cloud, Database (Oracle, MS SQL, Sybase) and Web are an additional asset.
