We are seeking an experienced and strategic communications manager to join the Corporate Communications team in Glendale, CA. Reporting to the Head of Communications for RBIS, the person in this role will design and develop business unit communications that support and align with an overarching global corporate communications strategy. He/she will work directly with all levels of management for the RBIS business group globally, and partner with Human Resources and Marketing Communications to plan and develop innovative, engaging communications that reach key internal and external stakeholders, and support the company’s brand and core values.
Collaborate with internal clients to design, implement, and measure communications programs and activities that drive business results, including executive messaging, intranet content, issues management and event planning.
Create and deliver compelling communications that tell the RBIS story and meet the needs of internal clients; lead efforts to ensure messages reach target audiences through a range of communications tools (web, intranet, video, etc.).
Work in collaboration with MarComm to leverage internal storytelling and develop content that effectively communicates the RBIS story across external channels (website, LinkedIn, etc.)
Lead employee interview series and develop content that offers insight into the experts that work at RBIS; leverage content for customer communications and digital marketing activity led by MarComm
Partner with the Global Corporate Communications team to leverage enterprise communication programs, message platforms, assets and channels to support business unit priorities.
Help activate and drive adoption of Avery Dennison’s company values, diversity and inclusion efforts and employer brand.
Organize and coordinate key business unit meetings and special events, including the preparation of presentation materials and executive talking points.
Develop, manage and publish content for the company’s global intranet.
Oversee feedback, measurement and impact of campaign activities.
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
6-10 years of progressive communications experience in a corporate or agency atmosphere.
Superb storytelling/writing, editing and oral presentation skills.
Excellent organizational ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
High degree of comfort in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Project manager’s ability to take initiative, work within tight deadlines and budgets, and communicate challenges/issues in a clear and timely fashion.
Ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with stakeholders of multiple levels, within and outside the company.
Direct experience working closely with executives; skilled in influencing senior management.
Experience working in a global environment, across divisions and in diverse cultures and operating structures.
Solutions-oriented, with a creative and collaborative approach.
