Job Description
We are actively looking for a Global Technology Service (GTS) Lead to join our IT Team at Avery Dennison! This is a hands-on technical team lead position that works closely with local business users and can communicate technology solutions and the impact on local business processes. You will be the single point of contact for the site(s) that you support. This role is responsible for site-specific documentation and asset management in addition to managing local IT support staff. You also serve as an escalation point, liaison, and local business representative for issues.
Technology advocate who clearly links technical solutions to business, shop floor, and process improvement opportunities.
Creates partnerships with wider Corporate IT groups to evaluate required Infrastructure upgrades.
Acts as a liaison between IT infrastructure and process automation support personnel to ensure business expectations and communicated and delivered upon.
Ability to take a technology situation, analyze the business impact, and summarize the required actions in both technical terms and in business terms.
Develop cases for value-generating solutions; conduct multiple dialogues with team managers. Clearly connect the solutions to gains in business process speed, simplicity, and effectiveness.
Essential Duties
Delegate tasks and set clear expectations
Understand the basic function and operation of the business unit and its role in the enterprise
Oversee day-to-day operation and management of GTS Specialists
Participate in the hiring process for all GTS Specialists
Deliver feedback in realtime to direct reports
Deliver disciplinary action up to and including terminations to direct reports
Have regular meetings with the team, and ‘check-in’ sessions with GTS Specialists, including GPS reviews
Attempts to participate in On-Call support rotation shift
Manage and support endpoint devices (Laptop, desktop, mobile devices, printers, thin clients) throughout their lifecycle. Including provisioning, refresh, asset management and decommission
Adhere to and promote IT policies and standards
Provide ‘smart-hand’ support at the site including on-call (per rotation schedule)
Follow ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) processes such as change, incident, and problem management
Comply with and execute SOX controls
Take ownership of reported issues and see issue tickets through to resolution
Research, diagnose, troubleshoot and identify solutions to resolve issues
Provide prompt and accurate feedback to customers
Be a technical advisor to management and end-users to ensure they have the proper IT equipment to be successful
Maintain accurate IT equipment, software, and license inventory in Asset Management Tool
Install, upgrade and replace selected software and hardware products according to Avery Dennison standards
Work closely with service vendors, other Avery Dennison IT teams, and personnel to ensure continuity of service
Assist in implementing best practices and Avery Dennison IT standards that will more effectively use IT resources
Deliver training on Avery Dennison’s software and computer systems; this can include group presentations, one-on-one training, and onboarding
Perform other duties as assigned

Collaborate with multi-functional groups to define and implement overall requirements
Partner with process engineers to support operational technology (OT) within the manufacturing environment
Ability to travel to support other sites when needed; estimated 20% travel
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferably in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline
6-8+ years of related experience in field assigned
Understanding and experience with information systems environments and systems; understanding of applicable computer systems, such as Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes, and function-specific software
Basic understanding of ICT (information & communication technology) infrastructure
Good verbal, data entry, and writing skills; communicative, in speaking and writing, in local language and English
Ability to work in teams and work independently
Good communication, training, customer service, and organizational skills
Skilled in anticipating user requirements and skilled in identifying and resolving complex problems with minimal supervision
Manufacturing or Factory 4.0 experience preferred
Previous Experience supporting Operational Technologies (OT)
Thorough understanding of applicable systems; significant expertise with hardware technology (server/storage), Cyber security, (MS SQL) Database, Networking technology
Understanding of shop floor business processes
Effective team builder; experience motivating multi-functional teams in an inspiring environment
Experience developing and completing business-enabling initiatives at the enterprise level
