Job Description

Summary:

The Sample Department Coordinator processes requests for samples made by the Global Product Development (GPD) and Product Line Management (PLM) teams and coordinates all the internal activities that need to happen to ensure a prompt turnaround and delivery of samples with the expected high level of quality. This position will be the main point of contact from Fletcher with the GPD and PLM teams as well as with Customer Service, Operations and Shipping teams.  

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of all sample requests

  • Act as the main point of contact from Fletcher to the Global Product Development (GPD) and Product Line Management (PLM) teams

  • Process sample requests, consolidate artwork, literature and create a production schedule for sample requests

  • Understand the details of each sample request and define the process steps needed in order to fulfill the needs

  • Provide lead times to the GPD/PLM teams

  • Update and ensure accuracy of Sample Department Inventory

  • Schedule samples to be run at the manufacturing lines and provide clear instructions to the Operations team

  • Ensure that samples portray a professional first impression of Avery Dennison

  • Coordinate the reception of raw materials and manage inventories according to sample requests

  • Run end of day, weekly, and monthly tracking reports

  • Enter orders into the ERP system

  • Coordinates the requests to create new part numbers in SAP as needed

  • Maintain safe, clean, organized department

  • Understands and implements those ISO 9000 procedures that relate to the role and responsibilities of the Sample Coordinator

  • May perform lab testing as part of customer service duties

  • May assist in complaint entry and testing.

  • Follow all policies, procedures, and management systems

  • Perform all duties in full compliance of all laws, safety and environmental regulations

Team Lead Responsibilities:

  • Provide clear direction to the Operations team regarding the samples to be ran on a daily basis

  • Evaluate cost effective methods for the production of the samples by keeping a continuous improvement mindset

  • Plan and organize the workload of assigned staff members.

  • Meet frequently with Global Product Development and Product Line Managers to understand sampling requirements as well as provide feedback about status with samples

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience

  • Associate Degree is preferred

  • 2 years of previous experience in a customer facing role

  • 1 year of previous team lead or supervisory experience

  • 2 year of previous experience in a technical role 

  • Previous RFID experience is preferred
