Job Description

The Fastener Solutions Division of Avery Dennison is a worldwide manufacturer of plastic fastening systems used in the automotive, apparel, retail, industrial and packaging industries. Our three-shift injection molding and extrusion operation is located in Fitchburg, MA. The Fastener Solutions Division is ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 certified.

About your role:

The Retail & Industrial Account Specialist will be responsible for handling the retail & industrial business segment through the administration, coordination, and servicing of related customers by performing a variety of duties categorized as:

  • Customer & commercial sales communication

  • Commercial planning to support internal production schedules

  • Price management and administration of customer pricing in business systems

  • Marketing communications support

  • New market and product development growth programs

Utilize detailed knowledge of products, policies, and operational methods while acting and making judgment decisions within the accepted guidelines of the division that are essential to maintaining outstanding customer relations. Position requires a self-motivated individual who can maintain a positive demeanor in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role requires a high frequency of customer interaction and requests submitted from a variety of mediums. This position serves as the interface between the retail and industrial customers, commercial team, marketing, manufacturing, finance, logistics and R & D to assist in the growth and development of this market.

Your responsibilities will include:

Activities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct assessments of customer needs within the assigned region or area.

  • Provide product recommendations, samples, technical support, pricing and service information on demand.

  • Provide technical support assistance by applying troubleshooting techniques.

  • Establish customer pricing within published guidelines.

  • Coordinate review, implementation, and maintenance of customer information and price agreements in CRM.

  • Support the commercial sales team to satisfy retail and industrial customer activities. This includes and is not limited to order status, expediting, material returns, credits, and communicating quality related documentation to the appropriate personnel.

  • Support global business expansion by providing market & customer insight, establishing efficient and replicable customer service processes, communicating customer specific “global” requirements and collaborating across boundaries to ensure global, long-term growth of the retail and industrial business.

  • Support business development efforts with analysis of industry, market size & trends, competitive solutions and positioning, market share and customer/industry needs for the product portfolio.

  • Collaborate internally to develop and implement targeted marketing collateral, sales tools and promotional campaigns.

  • Make outgoing calls to existing customers and prospects to support sales growth

  • Participate in team efforts which involve process improvements, Six Sigma methodology and cross functional approach.

Qualifications

What we will be looking for in you:

  • Ability to maintain professional working relations with internal and external customers

  • Experience with CRM Software a plus.

  • Interdepartmental and Team facilitation skills

  • Minimum of three years demonstrated ability in a customer service/sales support role

  • Strong written, verbal communication, and organizational skills. Ability to "multi-task" effectively.

  • Must be computer savvy with profound experience with word processing in Windows and Google environment.

  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus

Education:

  • High School Diploma needed, Associates or Bachelors degree in Business or related field preferred
