ABOUT YOUR ROLE

Our Fitchburg, MA Fastener Solutions facility has immediate openings for an entry-level Maintenance Technician in our extrusion and injection molding operation. The 2nd Shift Maintenance Technician is responsible for changeovers, repairs, troubleshooting machinery and mechanical equipment such as injection molding machines, extruders, auxiliary and assembly equipment. Conducts preventative maintenance tasks to equipment. This position reports into Maintenance Manager and is directed by 2nd Shift Leader. The shift for this position is 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm, overtime is required based on business needs.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

Activities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Mold changes and machine setups

  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks

  • Troubleshoot and repair Manufacturing equipment when breakdown and failure occurs.

  • Document all repairs and work daily.

  • Disseminate information at shift change, reporting all problems to Team Leader and/or Maintenance Supervisor in a timely manner.

  • Responsible for the care and maintenance of molding lab equipment

  • Train other mechanics on proper repair techniques, equipment systems operation and safety.

  • Installs maintain, repair and adjust electrical systems for production equipment.

  • Observe proper safety guidelines during the performance of all assigned duties and tasks.

  • Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears and other parts of the machinery.

  • Assemble, install and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.

  • Repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.

  • Install, program and/or repair automated machinery and equipment such as robots or other secondary equipment with programmable controllers.

  • Back up to Process Technician

  • Keep work area neat, clean and organized.

  • Complete all other duties or tasks that may be assigned or required of the position.

Qualifications

This is an entry-level Maintenance position.

  • Mechanically inclined individual

  • Confirmed skill working with people to achieve objectives in teamwork environment with a strong knack for interpersonal communication.

  • Able to work when kneeling, bending, twisting or standing for long periods of time.

  • Able to lift heavy items up to 50lbs using crane assists

  • Experience with welding and machining tools would be a plus.

  • Experience in electrical, PLC, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting would be preferred.

  • Experience reading electrical and hydraulic schematic drawings also a strong benefit.

  • Eagerness to learn & grow within the organization.

  • Flexibility with working hours

  • Availability to work overtime

EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma, GED required, or relevant work experience. Vocational training preferred.
