At Avery Dennison, the Human Resources function is a trusted partner to business leaders. Demand for our contribution is high and we love to deliver. We are looking for a talented leader to partner with Plant leadership for the Fastener Solutions business in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. You will report directly to the Sr. Human Resources Director located in Painesville, Ohio. You will have a seat on the plant leadership team, directly handle Human Resources within the Facility, and be a part of a large HR network within the Global Industrial and Healthcare Materials Group.
Strategy - Be the thought and strategic partner to the Global Operations Leader and the plant leadership team to develop the HR strategies to support the current and future needs of the business within the sites.
Employee relations – Actively engage with employees of every function and level to ensure that impactful two-way communication takes place. Exhibit a strong floor presence to the operators.
HR processes - Manage HR processes including performance management, talent reviews, succession planning, individual development planning, compensation, payroll, etc.
Organizational capability – Work with the site business leaders to assess, analyze and understand functional and leadership competency strengths and gaps of individuals and the organization, then work with leaders to address key gaps and play to strengths.
Deliver team effectiveness, leadership development and other trainings and workshops to employees and managers.
Staffing – Ensure a steady flow of talent into the organization, including handling rotational development programs participants.
Culture – The HR Manager is the role model of and the key shaper of the culture we are crafting, which is a culture of innovation, experimentation and challenging the status quo.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a closely related major required.
Five plus years HR experience, preferably in manufacturing companies
Expertise in HR processes and employment law
Master communicator, both written and verbal
Demonstrated experience in the key responsibilities listed above
Professional HR certification preferred i.e. SHRM, HRCI
Able to multitask and prioritize in fast paced and high-demand environment
Familiarity with relevant HRIS systems e.g. Applicant Tracking System (ATS), Learning Management System (LMS), Payroll and Time & Attendance systems, Google mail and apps, PeopleSoft HR
