Job Description

Avery Dennison is a global leader in pressure-sensitive adhesives and materials, labels, tags, retail systems and specialty chemicals. The Fastener Solutions Division of Avery Dennison is a worldwide manufacturer of plastic fastening systems used in the automotive, apparel, retail, industrial and packaging industries. Our three-shift injection molding and extrusion operation is located in Fitchburg, MA. The Fastener Solutions Division is ISO/IATF 16949 certified.

The successful candidate will be a contributor to the Fastener Research and Development Team. We are seeking an individual with strong project management skills who can support internal and external projects which include custom designed plastic components for worldwide distribution in the automotive market. The ideal candidate will have a successful track record of organization and execution of e projects and working directly with customers, suppliers and key partners. Experience in project management processes and software is a requirement.

Your responsibilities will include:

Activities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Support the planning, scheduling, and execution of multiple product development projects and meeting deadlines for results

  • Support all aspects of the projects through phases of the new product development process using standard project management techniques

  • Collaborate with all internal functions (Operations, Quality, etc) functions to ensure quality standards of high volume manufacturing

  • Supports business process management methodologies such as ISO9001/IATF16949 or equivalent. Familiarity with PPAP’s and APQP process a plus

  • Support internal and external resources for design, development, & prototyping

  • Collaborate with Business Development and Sales functions to identify and develop new product solutions that meet identified market needs (CTQ’s & VOC)

  • Diagnose and address customer problems related to existing and new products

  • Help to identify, qualify, and develop high quality suppliers

  • Design and/or improve on internal project management processes

Qualifications

What we will be looking for in you:

  • 0-5 years experience in engineering design process

  • Strong communication, problem solving, listening and negotiation skills

  • Injection molding tooling and process comprehension

  • ISO9001/IATF16949 or similar quality system process experience

  • Proficient in spreadsheet, word processing and presentation software (Google based)

  • Familiarity with project management software (Smartsheets)

  • Lean Sigma experiences a plus

  • Manufacturing and/or Material knowledge (plastics)

  • Focus on automotive plastic components: channels, brackets, custom parts a plus

  • Ability to travel (5-10%) on a global basis

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree (BS) in Engineering, Plastics, project management or a related field required. Master’s degree preferred.

  • Project Management qualifications, formal study or certification a plus
