The Material Handler is responsible for the movement of material throughout the site. This may include movement of raw materials, work in process and finished goods. Your work hours will be from 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm; overtime as needed.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
Activities may include, but are not limited to:
Prepare resin mixes for molding machines
Assisting in equipment maintenance per PM schedule and as directed
Prepare machines and supporting equipment for material changeovers
Monitor material levels in main and stand alone dryers
Monitor and maintain material handling equipment and escalate issues as needed to maintenance
Completing appropriate transactions when moving material from WIP to molding room.
Completing inventory counts as assigned by leadership
Monitoring and managing usage of excess material in the molding process
Unjams and resets secondary equipment as necessary, following proper safety procedures. Makes boxes for outgoing product.
Operate molding/extrusion machines for maximum production and quality.
Visually inspects product. Informs Team Leader or Process Technician of recurring problems with equipment.
Ensure good housekeeping to include grinding excess material, sweeping floor and organizing packaging material needed at workstation.
Verifies counts, weights, and quality of product being packed.
Adds water as required to ensure proper packaging of certain product.
Heat seals as needed. Segregates bad product and informs Team Leader/Process Technician of any quality trends or concerns. Keeps track of machine problems in the paperwork/forms provided.
Follows established work instructions, policies and procedures.
Covers breaks for packers as needed throughout the shift.
Support safety efforts on the shift.
Support 5S & housekeeping for Production floor as required.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
2 - 3 years experience as a Material Handler or similar position in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Must be able to follow written and oral instruction.

Must have strong service and quality focus; address issues effectively when problems arise and take initiative to understand root cause, then communicate / education team in a timely manner.

Must be able and willing to work overtime, including short-notice requests.
