Job Description

Avery Dennison is seeking a hands-on passionate data focused Business Intelligence (BI) technical expert. Reporting to the Sr. IT Director, Global Commercial on the Global IT team, this person will play a key role in deploying, maintaining, enhancing and expanding our BI solution for the global RBIS group. In this role you will work closely with various groups internal and external to build and deploy BI solutions to support the business unit strategy and objectives. Again, the successful candidate will be passionate about data and analysis! This is an exciting opportunity to join the team in the early stages of our journey to reimagine business intelligence within our global group and make a huge impact by helping craft a world class cutting edge environment.Your responsibilities will include:

  • Serve as our internal subject matter expert in business intelligence and data analysis

  • As our BI solution grows, ultimately manage a team of BI professionals (analysts, data scientists, etc.)

  • Verifying requirements, defining the BI architecture, developing a BI roadmap, providing best practices for implementing BI/Reporting solutions, and designing BI solutions that align to Avery Dennison’s strategic data & analytics needs.

  • Manage the development of Data Warehouse / Business Intelligence solutions and ensure all data warehouse and systems configuration and operating procedures are fully documented and properly maintained.

  • Responsible for the integrity and maintenance of our BI / Analytics platform - Keep us clean & simple

  • Manage and build high performance integrations with backend systems

  • Identify & support the implementation of new platform features & functions in response to business needs, while managing a timely release schedule for system enhancements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • Minimum of 12 years of business intelligence/data analysis/data warehousing, best practices, processes, and standards experience

  • Strong commercial business process knowledge

  • Experience in business intelligence tooling (OBIEE, SQL, ETL Tools, Qlik)

  • 5+ years of Microsoft BI (SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, Power BI, etc.)

  • 2+ years of Microsoft Azure (SQL Server, SQL Data Warehouse, Data Factory, etc.)

  • 5+ years of experience in data modeling (logical and/or physical), ETL design, reporting design

  • Strong SQL & Database Design/Architecture skills

  • Experience in outsourcing and vendor management

  • Experience with Azure & Azure based Data Analytics environments, including Architecture

  • Excellent overall business acumen & organizational savvy, including strong record of achievement, with solid analytical skills & an entrepreneurial hands-on approach to work.

  • Agile development background

  • Nice to haves:

  • Oracle OAC/OBIEE/OBIA experience

  • API Integrations and Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) experience

  • Oracle Enterprise Business Suite (EBS) experience

  • QlikSense experience

  • Oracle Database, SQL/PLSQL, MySQL experience

  • Apparel industry experience
